In Thailand the way we greet each other is by saying “Sawadee [sa-wad-dee]”. This word can be considered as equivalent to hello. Sometimes you may hear a bit informal tone of saying “Waddee [wad-dee].

Thai language is beautiful. When Thai people talk politely or sweetly, they can use the words that can give you with deeper feeling of caring and warming. One important thing is that you can give a very good feeling to Thai listeners if you know how to end your sentense.

For a gentleman, when you finish your sentense with the word “Krab [krab]”, it will make you look very polite. But in certain circumstance, by not adding the word “Krab” can give a strong, resistant or even agreessive tone to the listeners.

For a lady, please use the word “Ka [ka]” to end the sentense when you would like to give a special warming, caring or respectful tone to the listeners.
